Fixer spray is the most misunderstood product in Indian makeup. Most people spray it at the end and hope for the best. The truth: when you spray matters more than what you spray.
the two-spray method
Spray once on bare, moisturised skin before any makeup. This creates a tacky base that primers cannot match. Let it dry for fifteen seconds. Then apply your foundation, concealer, powder — everything as normal. Spray again at the end, holding the bottle eight inches from your face in an X pattern.
the one mistake
Spraying too close. Holding the bottle four inches from your face creates wet spots that dissolve powder and foundation into streaks. Eight to ten inches gives an even mist that settles like dew, not rain.
when to skip it
If you are only wearing lip colour and kajal, you do not need fixer. It is designed for base products — foundation, concealer, powder, blush. Using it on bare skin with just eye and lip makeup adds nothing.
